Been using body glide for years (7 or 8yrs). I haven't noticed any deterioration other than on a really old O'Neill hammer SS full. Inside the neck is the same old cheepo smooth skin that some older suits used on the chest. After about... 5+ years of use it started turning my neck black. Whether that was the age of the suit or the 5+ years of body glide on the neck, I dunno, but I've noticed no bad effects on any of my other suits and I've used it a lot.

It's expensive stuff, but nothing works better for me to prevent having to explain that my neck rash is not a hickey.
