Brand New Hand Shaped Custom Boards $295.00
|
|
We are launching a new label here in Orange County, Ca. Carrozza Surfboards. We are trying to get our name out and we are looking to do custom boards for $295.00 w/ futures or fcs, PU blanks only. We have several shapes and we have some photos on our website www.carrozzasurfboards.com or check us out at facebook.com/carrozzasurf
we got our start in Maui but we recently transplanted to Southerc Cal, we are based in HB, currently shaping our boards at foamez and we also do shaping lessons at foamez so if you want to do some background research on us you can call foamez and ask about us.
A few photos below - the squash tail is our "daily grinder" model and the round pin is our "heater model" we recomend a squash on the daily grinder but the heater is good with either a round/pin or thumb tail.

Hey peeps - we are still doing the $295.00 special. I need to clear this up. $295.00 for thruster set up only. We are still down to hook it up on quads and 5 fin set ups but pricing is as follows. Quad = $315.00 and 5 fin = $320.00

On the bright side, Tim's glassing is the best I've had the pleasure of riding.

We are not looking to make money on boards just yet. WE are simply trying to earn clients and riders. The couple dollars that we do scratch out of each board is being put aside to grow our business.

Yea we recently found that out about the stamps models with the names "grinder" and "mullet" our ideas where a bit off from his but we are thinking of new names for the shapes now. I wouldn't say we "copied" the name, we simply just came up with it while brainstorming. Didn't think to research other board lines to make sure we were not close to their names. We just wanted some names the represent a good idea about our boards. "daily grinder" well that kinda explains itself. "mullet" cause its a fish and we were gonna call it "business in the front, party in the back" . So anyway hope that clears it up.

Thanks much bud - we are simply offering boards at this price for now as a sign of good faith. Chris and I both understand that growing any successful business takes client loyalty. He and I agreed right up the best way to earn client loyalty is to offer a great product at a good price. Simple. Prices will go up eventually but for now we just want to get feet on our boards.

No disrespect to any shapers out there, but I think they'd all say the same thing. They love what they do but not much $$$

This should be your business plan:
Assuming that you have a start-up budget of- let's just say- 20 grand...
Well, take 10 of that and buy a lot of food and booze and throw a big ol' beach bonfire BBQ.
Invite all your friends, their friends, and anyone else who wants a free meal.
Then, when the party's really cookin' and everyone is fed and buzzed, take the other 10k and start feeding it into the fire.
Guaranteed that you'll come out more ahead doing that than by making boards for cheap.

yeah we have thought about that. I think if a shaper provides boards that work, I mean really work. Boards that are actually user friendly and feel good to ride and you are there and accessible to your clients then your business can grow. Our goals are long term, we are not looking to slang 25 boards then bam jack prices up to make a bunch of dough. We want to earn our clients and build this label so I think once people ride our boards and actually get to know us face to face, understand what Chris and I are about, then people will be stoked.

I also noticed a mistake, maybe.......
One of the descriptions reads,
"Extra V in the tail for that springy poppy feeling, relaxed tail V for a more glidey skatey feeling."

Got it the V in the last 4 or so inches ads tons of pop / pivot to your turns. When we take out the v the boards tends to have a more down the line carving feel and holds better on rail. I like it with the V for small waves but as the waves get over shoulder high or so its tends to release way to easy. good feature for grovely waves

For anyone interested to know our "daily grinder" is now called the "BFF" (best friend forever) , after being notified that another local shaper here in HB already had a board called the grinder we decided to change ours to the "BFF" since we thought that this name still represented our "feel good" approach to board building and surfing as well as this specific boards attributes. Below are some additional photos of some of our other shapes we have avaialable for the intro discount price. We just shaped a round tail BFF for a new client.
Below is a new "heater model" that Chris shaped for himself. I just rode this thing last week and it is a blast. It just holds insane through turns. You can get way out front and wrap it back with tons of speed or put it on rail in the pocket and the thing just goes. Great board.
Below is our "loose change" model - this board is quad with the 2 middle fins more toward the center than a normal quad. This allows for the board to get that fast quad style feeling with perform more like a thruster than a normal quad. This board pictured is a 5'7". I surfed it and it was a bit small for me. I would go 5'9" but I am 6 feet tall. This board is fricking loose and fun. Just a snappy straight up and down little ripper for small to maybe 3 foot days.
I am gonna upload more photos here soon but we have a bunch of new photos on our website as well. Cheers mates!

Chris and I are talking about putting together a single fin shape. We are getting requests for single fins like the new ones that rusty is doing.

yea those photos disnt come out as great as we would have liked them to. The room that we shot them in had tan colored walls and because we shot the photos agains a black backdrop I think some of the light bounced off the bright white boards in that yellowish color. The "loose change" model is a couple years old, that is one of chris's personal boards that he loves and has never gotten rid of. Sorry about the photo quality not being top notch. We are working with what we have right now and doing our best. We will have much better photos down the road. The ding in the one board was very unfortunate, chris just put his knee through the thing only a couple weeks after he shaped it for himself. Not the prettiest thing to look at with that patch job but that board works really good. I think once people feel the shapes out things will be cool.

We have got a few orders now so we will have some better photos of boards in the next couple weeks. We just demo'd our loose change yesterday and the guy after his first wave said "im craigslisting my boards when I get home, make me this exact board" No joke. That loose change is fricking loosey goosey.

Just a heads up for everybody. We changed the name of the "daily grinder" to the "BFF" (best friends forever) we felt this name still represented what a daily shortboard type surfboard would be. Something that always has your back and is always there for you, you trust it and you know you can count on it, day in day out. Lates
