Anything that's regular network programming will always be bla compared to cables shows like BSG, IMO. I am gonna watch it for novelty. As for my fav character, I really liked the evil queen lizard. She was very hot to me at the time, but not anywhere near my childhood love of Erin Gray from Buck Rogers. Oh Wilma!!! Bidi bidi bidi...

Hollywood is run by a bunch of pussies who think only about the bottom line and they like to play it safe by remaking things that are familiar to viewers. Always a safe bet for them even if the results are mediocre at best. Hollywood is teeming with writing talent. There's thousands of great ideas out there that'll never be made cause they're gambles. And business people don't like to gamble. That's what happens when you have businessmen in charge of creative ventures.

There's a lot of people that f*cked up by not picking up Lord of the Rings. Say what you will about that movie but it made over a billion bucks.
I guess it was safer for some studios to put out a remake of The Longest Yard. At least the airlines will pick it up. Some of those movies are so bad, I wonder whether my plane hasn't been diverted to Gitmo and this is the beginning of my torture.

I would rather watch the Longest Yard than Lord of the rings. But, then again kinda like my video games. I like something I can walk away from come back & it didn't matter. I'm either laughing again or playing the game.

I was just commenting on the fact it made a sh*tload of money.

I know they're going to fark with my favorite 'V' part where they take off in the air balloons to poison the air against the visitors.
Filmed in the misty morning, backlit balloons. Beautiful.
Plus, as mentioned elsewhere, it had the Beastmaster as Donovan.
It's still possible to find new, original work out there, just don't expect it to come from somwhere that has to pay back a massive budget....

I really liked how they adjusted things to 2009 from 1984. As in making Willie the good alien go from begin the goofy Jewish guy to now Ryan the Black good alien.
