My little brother just got a "promotion" and has moved to the tower at Pipe, full-time. His response when I asked how much different it is than working at Sunset: Same issues, more idiots.

Dang, so many of my old crew ended up in the towers of both Pipe and Log Cabins.
P.S. I really, really do not envy the lifeguards who have to work the Log Cabins stretch.

use to hang with Blears & Butch Ukauka when they worked LC's.Actually kinda spooky draging folks out that got drag'd down the beach..... and waves crankin on your head..

daddylonglegs, I was there last year when he was stationed at Sunset and it's a totally different animal than Pipe. More space to cover, a wider variety of people and yes, the same knucklehead factor all-around. But Pipe is such a circus and the "regulators" are a big part of that idiot factor. Besides 90% of those in the water, should've considered surfing Lani's before paddling out. Though Sunset can be sneakier at times, Pipe is always the bigger headache for the boys. And that's not me speaking, that's the guys from the towers.
