... and I'm not spamming. But I was just curious if anybody else here drinks "Bullet-Proof" coffee?
I've been drinking it for the past week. Pretty interesting stuff. My buddy turned me onto it. When he first told me about putting butter in my coffee I thought he was on crack.
But man, I was so wrong. Unsalted, sweet, grass fed cow's butter. Kerry's Gold makes it and it's pretty easy to find. MCT Oil + Butter, blend and serve.
It's been my breakfast lately. It's awesome.

The closest I've ever gotten is stirring my coffee with a butter knife that had a little bit of butter left on it. It left a floating oily sheen on top that kinda grossed me out.
I would be open to trying it though. Is it oily and shiny?

Water sometimes brings out some sweetness in whiskey. A few cubes slowly melting will change the flavor of the whiskey.

It was John Patrick Henry’s 2nd cousin’s boyfriend Juan Valdez who said, “Give me high-end coffee or give me death.” That’s because toxins in cheap coffee (Starbucks included) will steal your mental edge and actually make you weak, but clean coffee actually fights cancer and provides antioxidants.
So I buy the best coffee there is, brew it, and then I blend unsalted grass-fed butter into it. Yes, butter. All the benefits of healthy milk fat with none of the damaging denatured casein proteins found in cream. It makes for the creamiest, most satisfying cup of coffee you’ve ever had. It will keep you satisfied with level energy for 6 hours if you need it. And because I’m having it for breakfast, I’m programming my body to burn fat for energy all day long!
Recipe •Start with 500 ml (2 mugs) of black coffee •Add 2 Tbs (or more, I prefer 80 grams, about 2/3 of a standard stick of butter) of Kerry Gold or other UNSALTED grass-fed butter •Add 30 grams of MCT oil and/or coconut oil •Blend with a pre-heated hand blender, Magic Bullet, or (best) counter top blender until there is a creamy head of foam It’s really fast and easy to prepare. Allow me to stat that salted coffee is a crime. Do not do this with salted butter. Bleah.
Kerrygold butter or another grass-fed brand of butter really matters because corn or soy-fed cows don’t make butter with the same fats. Those butters don’t blend well, don’t taste good, and don’t make you feel Bulletproof.
Grass-fed butter is much healthier than other butter. It doesn’t make cholesterol levels worse, it optimizes them! Starting your day with grass-fed butter will give you lots of energy and it will give your body healthy fats that it will use to make cell walls and hormones.
If you’re like most of my friends who try this, your body is so starved for healthy fats that you feel like you can’t get enough. It will take your body a week or so to fully turn on its fat digestion systems when you switch to a high healthy fat breakfast of Bulletproof coffee. If at first it is a little too rich, try using less butter at first and build up to the amount you like. Taking a betaine HCl or digestive enzyme supplement with your coffee will also help your body digest the butter.
Try this. After one drink of Bulletproof coffee, you’ll never be tempted to eat fat-free, insulin-raising, fat-storing toast and oatmeal breakfasts again

for over 15 years I've started the day with vietnamese style coffee (a thick dark roast with sweetened condensed milk) as my only nourishment until lunchtime. It gets me through daily dawn patrols followed by 4 hrs. of physical work until lunch. although probably not as healthy (all that sugar) the idea is probably similar.
I shall try this bulletproof coffee thing and report back.

Have you tried these yet?
I noticed them in Total Wine last week, almost picked them up but I don't really drink the hard stuff anymore. Kinda keep it to beer. But I might just to keep on hand for those occasional Scotch, Bourbon, or Whiskey nights during the winter.

If you want cooler spirits without the "water effect" from melting ice cubes, you can buy fancy-schmancy "stone cubes" that cool your drink without said effect.
Me? If I was into that, I'd just put some colorful agates or other non-leaching stone, like a bit of Sierra granite, that I picked up somewhere, into the freezer for an hour or so, and then into my booze. The money saved on not buying a gimmick could go into my next surfboard.
Heck, I think you could buy a chess set of marble and onyx (a great "I've been to Mexico and bought you this" type of gift) and use those pieces for your "ice cubes".
Or just buy these from Ebay and save yourself the hassle:

I've been sipping single malt whiskey with a little for about 4 decades now.
I took my son for a 2 week drive through Scotland last July. We visited a number of distilleries. Every tasting room pourer suggested a slight splash of water to 'open' the whiskey's flavors. I tried it, I liked it. Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.
One pourer cited blasphamy when I asked his opinion of drinking the whiskey with ice. Other rooms said sure, it is not unusual to use ice.
