Finally got my 6'3" Coil step up out. It paddled well and was fast and loose. On the way in I got my first ding on a Coil... Hit the rail as the water sucked back and a totem pole looking coral head appeared. first session, first ding...

I'm 6'3" w/ size 12 feet. Narrow doesn't work so well for me.
With the 8'6" Hinds, when my size 12 rear foot is on the rail over the fin cluster, and the wall is steep, my toes are always dragging in the water.
If I can get in a tiny bit sooner and have time to think about things, I can sometimes scoot my rear foot forward more and keep the toes back from the rail edge just enough so they don't drag.

Aloha brobrah, the bump squash and full rails of the wonderful al merrick flyer make it not my first choice for shredding mondo turns in the tight pocket but to be honest I've seen some pretty heavy waves surfed on flyer's by men with more sole than I.
