im gonna guess that someone was getting a solid amount of views (around 5k) . So someone picked up the phone and told surfermag that advertising ain't free....i'm sure you will have to drop a couple of grand to generate that advertising on google adwords or in mags

Confirmed - LeeD is pretty active over there. There were some pretty funny posts complete with his signature bold claims/guys who loved to fark with him. It was EXACTLY like here.

To heat things up ;-)
Its impossible for the person who designed the K2.1 template being so different than any other at the time to want to use a standard fcs template as well ,due to having that design knowledge in making that fin.
That person would just make several sizes of the K2.1.
Hope you can follow that thought.

easy to follow and a good question - as that fin is a departure from the usual FCS templates, wonder who was responsible for the design?
And wonder why they came up with larger fronts, but not smaller trailers for a quad. Heck, they might even work really good.

My very first attempt at making fins were for a 5-2 Biscuit-style board. I did it as a quad and used the WCT template for the front and the SB1 longboard sidebite template for the rears. This was before GG posted his fin template, otherwise I would have used that instead. I set them at the rail (it was my first rout-in install, too). The board's too small for me to surf but my son (140#) loves it.
