With the U.S. Open kicking into full tilt and Surf City USA wearing its medal proudly for year number one, the topic begs a revisiting:
So maybe Huntington Beach won the legal dispute granting it exclusive permission to use the moniker "Surf City USA," but what kind of salt does this ruling hold with the most salt-saturated community of all: the surfers? Maybe the courts got it right the first time, and Huntington should deservingly wear their badge with pride. But then again, maybe not.

Do you really think real surfers give a flying fark what city can call itself surf city? At this point, we don't want any city or anyone else promoting the sport, there's too many donkeys in the water and in the bars as it is.

Surf City should be moved to Shanghai that way the surf industry can put "made in Surf City" tags on all of their merchandise
