Man I swear, the 3 season (almost 4) xzip has to be the most comfortable suit I've ever owned.
+1 on the xzip. my infinity xzip is at least 3 seasons old and is super flexy and buttery soft still. love that suit. may even try to get a 4/3 on closeout.
stu seems built like a linebacker vs wide receiver so everyone else's mileage may vary

Hello all, I want to buy a good AV receiver suit to connect to my new television. I'm also looking for recommendation on which to choose for my Budget is within $500? Who can help me find a useful device? Andrew, my friend said the cheap av receiver tool he bought among the reviews is wonderful. What¡¯s your ideas? Plus, I have a meeting to go to England next week, I hope to purchase one immediately!
I'm in the North East. I surf more in the fall and spring. I like the Mutant because I don't always like a hood when the water isn't that cold and on Sunny days. When it starts getting into the 30's I tend to not surf as much. Other than that I find that spending money on expensive suits is a waste. They don't last long. My last 3/2 was an Oneil Reactor. I've had it two seasons and its still kicking. Its the middle of October and its still going. I had a Patagonia but was way too stiff. Great suit but I like the cheap ones better.
Went and tried on a couple suits the other day, a 4/3 Bodyglove 'Vapor' (I think?) chest zip that was $325+ and a 4/3 Quik Syncro that was $150. Had heard these are actually great suits for an entry level...and damn, they are. Way more comfy and better fit than the BodyGlove, more flexible (I actually thought the 4/3 I tried on might have been a 3/2...but it was in fact 4/3). Seem to be a few extra unneeded seams, but I was impressed. Would probably only go for a 3/2 as it's not taped for the most part, but for $150 it would be a no-brainer. Anyone else have experience with them? Any 4/3's?

I just ordered a Back Zip 4/3 Syncro. Tried them on the other day and yes for 150 its a great suit. I have a good 5/4/3 so don't need a super quality 4/3. But the rubber on it is very flexible for the price.

While comfort and warmth are, of course, important... the main thing I'm looking for is to be able to get 2-3 winters out of it surfing 2-4 times a week. I am pretty good about taking care of my wetsuits too.
Its the only 4/3's I own. IMO the best performance meets warmth suit Oneill makes. The lack of smooth skin makes for very good tactile feel when paddling. The minimal seam construction is super good but makes for a poor fit IMO due to less paneling. I wear a L but am 6'2" 220 yet the fitment looks spot on and accurate, problem is Oneil suggest I should be in almost a XXL(?). No trampolining at the lumbar from too small a fit. As for usage mine has held up super good betten the my Psycho II's and PsychoFreak.
Great suit, should cop a fit test before you order at you nearest shop IMO. Your psyched its a great suit

Anyone here use japanese suits? I Have 2 friends (both japanese) that swear by them and the custom sizing. I think the company is called glare, but im sure there are others. Materials look really nice, and less stupid logos. The only thing im worried about though is their price is about the same as an undiscounted top of the line 4/3( last two suits, billabong and excel, only lasted a year, even with excellent care). So i guess im asking if anyone can comment on the longevity of the suit?
I've just received my ISURUS 434 i-elite wetsuit in these days, I hve not already used in water because is still warm and I'm using my r.c. e-bomb 3.2 (really good wetty). But I have worn it so these are my "dry impression": i-elite looks very high quality, its full black colour is amazing I didn't find particular difficult to wear but you feel that the wetsuit really compress your body coping any part of your skin Once closed the front zip I realized that the neck is cut quite low I hope in water this will be not to low The feeling once completely worn the wetty is quite new(before my 4.3 have been from the classic brand: billabong, q.s., mormaii, xcel) for me: you feel your body very compressed but at the same time you feel free to move. I-Elite cover ankles and wrists very well. Until now not having used in water I find two weak points: the worst one is that the chest zip seaming goes to much in middle of my right shoulder, I hope when paddling this will not cause me bother and pain. the other one is stripes on the forearm which cause to much compression on the forearm. So take these as partial feedback because not yet used in water but I'm really really courious and amped to test it, because seems an amazing wetsuit.

I have only experience with the hooded isurus suits but as for the suit being snug at first that is a good thing. After a few sessions it should feel like a second skin. The chest zip thing I have not noticed on mine but I have a wide chest/shoulders so the zipper doesn't seem to go near near my pits. Hope it works out for you.

I picked up a couple of those hooded West 4/4 suits from that Seshday sale. I use a hood almost every surf but never had an integrated hood on my suit. Been using it for the past few of days and I hate it, I feel like it restricts the movement of my neck, and find paddling back out more fatiguing as a result of additional and unnecessary resistance.
Took the suit over to Blown-Out wetsuit repair and she cut the hood off and is sewing up the neck for me. Should be perfect then. The hood feels fine cut off and without the zip string thing. I do like the 4/4. It's warm for an afternoon surf these days but for dawn it's great and will be well broken in by winter.
Wore my 2 1/2 year old 3/2 Xcel Drylock for a couple sessions after a long summer in lesser suits. Realized the left armpit panel is basically gone. There's a huge section along my side where it's only fabric. The water and air is still warm enough that it didn't really matter, but once it gets cold that will be a problem. Those panels are pretty thin to begin with to help with flexibilty so it's not totally surprising.
The only other problem I've had is the knee pad came loose a little, but the stitching is still fine underneath, so no biggie.
So overall, very happy with this suit.. but definitely time to look at a new one.

I was wondering about the gato heroi's because they use the people from amsterdam wetsuits, plus 375 for a custom japanese suit isn't bad. Too bad they dont make them anymore though, 3 year lifetime sounds awesome. Ill try out a glare, norcal surf shop is going to start putting them out i hear
apparently a homie can get me a hook up on a flash bomb real cheap, i tried it on and noticed that the right shoulder was not quite as flexy as my old drylock, my friend who has the flashbomb as well says it loosens really fast though. The lining on the flashbomb feels really nice, like some sort of really soft blanket. The lack of seams could a be a bad or great thing, but even if it falls apart fast, its still a cheaper suit for me . ill keep you guys posted once im in the water with it.

My best friend just got one. Said its lot less stretchy then his other RC's. Didnt sound super psyched on it. Still like the idea of a suit drying in 1/2 hour

my 4/3 flash bomb is WAY stretchier in the shoulders than my new 4/3 drylock (couldn't pass up the whiskey deal this summer). will use the flash bomb on most winter days or when it's solid surf and doing a lot of paddling. then go with the dry lock on cold days.
wore my new 4/3 drylock today and it's really warm but seriously sucks in all other accounts. what did they do with the sizing? feels way smaller than in previous iterations. arms are too short and the fabric catches when I paddle making me tired and I have to be like freaking houdini to get in and out of this thing. liked the older ones much better fitwise. wish I got a patagucci chest zip or one of those japanese custom dealios. may send this back to backcountry for a refund and nix xcel from the "suits that fit me" list. btw I'm 5'10 barely 160 lbs and a medium is too short in the arms and too tight everywhere else.

fuzzy delight first sesh today , soooooooooo warm and nice - fit perfect - love it
what kind of suit is that?
2nd session with the Flashbomb, in semi-winter conditions. i might be wrong. the fuzzy liner does retain heat. don't know if it was from first paddling out in sunny, glassy, and mid 50's water conditions with lot of paddling to heat up the suit. but when the wind shifted to pretty heavy onshores I was toasty and could feel the toastiness of the fuzzy liner.
Any Hyperflex wearers out there... how does the sizing of their suits run? I've been wearing Xcels for the past 5 years and am thinking of giving these Hyperflex a try. In Xcel I'm a medium short, which fits really well. I'm also a S or MS in O'Neills (just tried one of them on a few days ago).
Thanks!
