Bob Tanner Named Marketing Director of Ocean Minded
October 23rd San Clemente, California - Ocean Minded is pleased to announce the appointment of Bob Tanner to the position of Marketing Director.
Tanner will lead his department in defining and executing Ocean Minded’s marketing programs in concert with the company’s business and brand strategy.
“I would like to welcome Bob Tanner to the Ocean Minded family. Bob brings a wealth of knowledge and great organizational skills to our team”, said Gary Ward, Ocean Minded’s Founder and President. “We are growing at light speed, and adding great people like Bob is crucial in executing our brand message. I have been involved in the surf and skate business for over 30 years and our crew at Ocean Minded, going into 2008, is every brand-builders dream”, added Ward.
An East Coast native who grew up surfing in Ocean City, New Jersey, Tanner started his career in the retail/wholesale market of New York City. After marrying a San Diego native, and moving West, he followed his dream to work in an industry that revolves around surfing and other active lifestyles.
Tanner has spent the last 8 years in Southern California as part of the Action Sports Industry, but also brings those previous 10 years of key experiences to Ocean Minded.
Prior to joining the company, his Industry experience included being the Director of Marketing at Reef, National Sales Manager for Aaron Chang, and General Manager/Head Buyer at Emerald City.
"As a surfer, I am very proud to become part of Ocean Minded", said Tanner. "I don't think there is a company in the marketplace that has a more relevant brand message, and I look forward to helping the O.M. crew deliver that message"
