Hey Hump, Tree Climber, PNW Old Guy, Qsurf, Bloomies, Kalani, and the rest of you soggy curmudgeons. It's time again for the 6th annual Surfing and Traditions event at La Push, WA over the 4th of July weekend. Like always, we'll have the kids camp on Friday, surf and blow stuff up all day on the 4th, early morning beach cleanup on Sunday the 5th followed by "contest" and raffle.
Contest on Sunday has been "recessioned" into an expression session featuring all kinds of catergories and buffoonery. Still lots of great prizes to be had including a snowboard, wetsuit, and surfboard. Raffle proceeds will once again go to the Quileute Tribe and next years event.
We're mainly looking for able bodied volutnteers to help out friday who don't mind spending some time in the water with kids from the Quileute tribe and the town of Forks. Help do your part in creating the next generations of locals who will no doubt boot you from the lineup in the upcoming years
Kidding aside, this weekend is a huge stocker and feels good to introduce these kids to such great resource that they have in their own backyard.
Good work Warbs, we have Cole Ortega coming back to south county that weekend with his family. First time since his arm was torn off by the dory roughly a year ago. Not sure if he's going to be able to surf or not, I think we're going to wait and see on that.
One of these years I'm going to join you up there that looks like a blast.
