The other quiver thread is getting a little long in the tooth. A lot of boards come and go through many erBB's hands and often the same board passes through many hands.
With El Nino on the way I thought this would be a good time for us all to share and see what we are all riding for the most wave rich time of year.

From L to R:
1) 5'9 Griffin Modfish. This boards is THE ORIGINAL Modfish. Picked it up 2nd hand from Doug9303030300210 a few years back. This board actually changed my life. This first ever Modfish will probably never leave my possession.
2) 5'10 Griffin Mod Keel This board had become my daily driver. Can;t say enough about this one. This board does it all and has no weakness aside from being a fish and not a shortboard. This board is also a demo
3) 5'10 Griffin Cheater Quad This is the one to grab when its racy and you want to go a million miles an hour and crack lips and bust airs that I can't land. This board is also a demo
4) 5'10 Griffin Twin Fin Not my first choice for groveling or daily driver but if the waves are on, this boards will melt your brain. Won;t even bother putting this one into words...well maybe acid trip. This board is also a demo
5) 6'1 Pavel Speeddialer Old Faithful. We all know how these ones go. Had Rich make it especially for Blacks. Surfed DOH+++ waves on this board. It's a champ. Not riding it much any more but can't stand the thought of selling it...too many good waves. Set up with Greg Griffin Quad fins...in LOKBOX
6) 6'3 Griffin Quad Shortboard Again this is something I ride once waves get overhead, other than that I'm on a fish. Had some of the most critical under the lip backhand snaps on this board. This one changed what I though was possible for me. Usually grab this when heading to Blacks or fast spinning beach breaks in the OH-DOH range.
7) 6'10 Griffin Stepup Thruster As yet unridden due to lack of any swell that would merit waxing up. Can't wait to get this thing wet. Fingers crossed for winter
8) 6'10 Campbell Bros Bonzer 5 Fin Stepup. Ridden this board is the biggest surf we've had in the last couple years. This board allowed me to make some of the sketchiest drops to backside barrels I've ever made. Not the greatest board for trying to verticlal lip bashing but for charging hucking barrels this has been my go to.
9) 8-9"??? Mobley. Otherwise know around this parts as ding repair university. It looks to me like some kind of hull with the belly on the bottom and pinched rails. Massive weird plastic flex fin in a box. I guess Mobley was some Santa Barbara shaper. I haven't spent too much time on this board because if the surf is "hullable" I'd rather ride something else. I basically use this board to work on my ding repair technique....as there are no shortage of them here
I personally can't wait till this winter. Hope It's a good one. Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is riding too. Lot's of cool boards being made these days!

El nino means big and stormy and lots of swell. Here's the two I'm hoping to get some time on this winter..
Latest edition: 7'4" Bulkley pintail

And if it's the real deal El Nino the 8'4" may even come out of hiding..

Agreed but last two winters were not El Nino winters. This one is. Besides..my summer quiver has less fishes in it than your fall quiver.

Summer quiver? Fall quiver? Winter quiver? This is SoCal. The same quiver plus a step-up and a senigun will get you through 98% of any surf SoCal will throw at you any time of year, whether it's El Nino or not. I ride my fish plenty of days in the dead of winter because it's often small and gutless then too. On the flip side, 15 foot faced surf broke in HB in July. I would have been SOL with a so-called "summer quiver"!

I like it. I will of course be riding all of my boards but these are my go to boards for when it starts getting good: 6'1" Single bump Thruster. Shaped for me with the single concave flyer in mind. This is my favorite board of all time and can surf knee high to slightly overhead hollow stuff really well:
Next up: 6'3" single concave that I just had shaped. Since getting my grey board, I decided to replace my good wave thruster with something with a little more curve, concave, and a round tail for better waves. Also bumped up the volume to get me in a little earlier. You can see the comparison between it and my old board in the second photo:

And last but not least, my 6'9" This is my biggest board made for days with a lot of water moving, or Double 0 plus. I don't surf big waves so this only gets ridden once or twice a year. Despite last years crappy winter I scored one of the best days I've ever had at my local beachbreak on this thing. It wasn't that big but people were struggling to get over the ledge on their normal shortboards. This allowed me to get in early but was still very nimble on the really curvy wave face. Super long barrels that day that were due in part to this board:

As you can tell, I prefer thrusters when the waves get fun

i'm just going to go with theses three
5'9 20 1/8 x 2 5/8 GG Modfish. this is my daily driver for just about all conditions. by far the most versatile board i've ever had. this fall/winter i'll use this in anything from 1' to HH & 1/2.
6'3 19 1/4 x 2 1/2 akila aipa twin. this one was made for mainland mex barrels and is extremely foiled and rockered out. this is my bread n butter board for draining, ledgey, dredgey, hollow stuff. late takeoffs are a breeze on this one and i've had some unforgettable sessions at lowers, newport and mex on this board.
6'8 19 1/8 x 2 1/2 brian bulkley stepup thrusta. this one was acquired today so no feedback on this one but it feels real good under my arm dawn_patrol raves about his and i figure this will be a good board for when the currents are strong.

whats your size and weight? Seems like Dialer is way too big for you, does it work well as a step up? I was interested in getting a bigger dialer as well for bigger winter days at a super mushy left point around here...

i'm 6'1 and go between 200-210. i have been really blessed to work with some great shapers on ideas for boards. this was my first pavel "experience" and first board i've ever gotten from him.
i met with rich for lunch at newbreak cafe and we went over the details. i told him i wanted one specifically for blacks and that it would be ridden in OH-DOH waves. he asked me what i though about color and i told him as best i could what i wanted "ah...the ali'i colors. cool." looked at me to see if it registered (it did) and warmly smiled.
rich is super attentive really listens to what you have to say and genuinely wants to make you the best board. its fun to see your shapers eyes light up when you talk to them about how stoked you are on your board. this one has a really unique rail...even guys that have been getting boards from pavel for a long time always do a double take..... "i've never seen that rail before, thats really unusual" i remember when i picked it up from moonlight i met rich down at the greenroom that afternoon to grab the fins. i walked in to rich waiting for me. he picked up the board, cupped his hand over the rail and ran it down the template and said "yep...that'll do it". sounds corny as i'm writing this but i definitely feel like i got some extra mojo on this one.
what always cracks me up is how genuinely stoked the guy is to be doing what he is doing for a living. he's like santa handing out toys to kids and loving every minute of it.
ok enough of memory lane... to answer your question it works great as a step up. if the speeddialer is your cup of tea, call him up talk to him about what you want. he'll be stoked to do it!

1. 6'1" x 18.75" x 2.38" SDIII pretty much the daily driver from here on out until the waves get bigger than head and a half or I'm surfing some ripping beach break and need some paddle power
2. 6'4" x 18.25" x 2.125" Rawson Hydro Hull II barrel chip waiting for a call to duty. Less volume than I usually ride, but got it for 2 waves in particular that will light up soon and when they work, paddling will not be an issue
3. 6'6" x 18.75" x 2.38" Kalu Coletta. Old faithful, this board has traveled the whole west coast from Vancouver Isle to Baja, mainland mex, costa, el salvador, and bali. Will not die, but the nose has been in serious disrepair for the last year.
4. 7'2" x 18.75" x 2.6" Chas. My cadillac. Heavily glassed, heavily used, and still ready for action. Originally got it for SFOB while living in Berkeley, 10 years later and it still sees 15+ sessions a year. I'll tip a sip when it breaks

The go to boards for juice will be: 5'11" Bonzer 5 round pin. Great board from last year. Needs to be steep and round, HH to H 1/2. 18 1/2 x 2 1/4. Tiny little thing that goes bigger. 6'2" Bonzer 5 swallow. Beat this thing to death and it still goes. Good for points and beaches, a little thicker and wider than usual. Loves the small really round days, but floats mush, too. 19 1/4 x 2 1/2. 6'5" Bonzer round pin. For the real offshore days and stuff up to DOH. 18 3/8 x 2 3/8 6'6" Stretch square tail. Narrow and rockered like hell. Big round waves attract this one. Reefs and steep Strand. 18 1/4 x 2 1/8 6'9" Bonzer swallow semi gun. Getting serious now. DOH + or really long points or beaches with juice. Thin and foiled. Great tube rider. 19 x 2 1/4, maybe a little thicker, domed deck. If I need anything bigger, there is a 7'2" Bonzer, a 7'6" Stretch pintail, an 8' Stretch gun, an 8'8" Bonzer pin, and a 10'6" freak of a beast Bonzer pin that will probably never get wet. The ski is tuned and a new set of experimental tow fins are in the 5'6" tow board from Stretch.
I will more than likely ride a little 5'10" Bumble Bee most of the time, though.

Me: 6'and 190ish 38 years competent but no ripper
Year round quiver:
Griffin ModFish - 5'11" 20.5 2.5 - Board handles an incredible diversity of surf and conditions. If this is the only board I have on me I know it can handle just about anything at my local beach, unless it is macking.
Merrick Twinfinner - 6'1" 19.5 2.5 - Specialty board for steep goodness at local beachbreaks. Goes insane in headhigh barrels. Drive, drive, drive.
Bulkley EPS Roundtail Quad - 6'3" 19.75 2.5 - This board is money. Just plain works from waist high mushy HB to overhead North Shore. It won't die - glassed so well.
Griffin Thruster - 6'3" 19.75 2.5 - Changed my mind on what a thruster can do. This board is the chit. Greg's fins are insane and you can really feel them at work in this board. This is my daily driver for punchy waves from chest high to overhead.
MC Bonzer - 6'4" 19 2.5 with a baby squashtail - Step-up type rocker and foil for good surf/barrels in the shoulder high to well overhead range. Newer board for me that feels GOOD. It will be tested this fall.
Barry V Step-up/Minigun - 6'9" 19.25 2-9/16 round pin- Barry shaped this for me for average North Shore surf or insane local surf. Works great when it gets big and currents/paddling become an issue. Handles big and juicy surf but still turns nice and can be surfed agressively. Works great in stiff offshores and overhead barrels.
Merrick MSG - 7'6" 19.75 2.75 (or close to that0. Custom by Al for a friend. Doesn't get to play too often. Maybe that will change this fall/winter.

The 5'11", 6'0", and 6'1" are pretty much my daily drivers in heavy rotation. And the other three are my good wave boards depending on the conditions. L to R 5'11" x 18 3/4 x 2 3/8 CI Flyer - hand shaped by Al - knee high to head high, loves soft walls, this board has so much flow. 6'0" x 20½ x 2¾ thruster by me - for the small stuff (but still works up to head-high). Lots of foam, so it gets in early. 6'1" x 19½ x 2 3/16 Inspired EPS core, XPS rails, Epoxy by Drew Baggett - waist to head high and punchy. This board is like a skim board you paddle into waves with. It picks up waves easy and you can throw the tail around. 6'3" x 18¾ x 2½ CI Black Beauty - when it's overhead, I ride this in long-walled beach break that isn't too hollow. 6'4" x 19 1/8 x 2 3/8 CI Proton - head to few feet overhead and hollow. 6'4" x 18½ x 2 5/16 Simon Anderson XFC - overhead and hollow. This board holds a line or bottom turn like no other board I have ever ridden.
