February is definitely the primetime for Lanzarote with ground swells and sirocco (offshore). La Santa is the place to catch the thickest swells with El Quemao, La Isquierda and La Derecha. El Quemao holds big and gnarly barrels, La Isquierda is a slab kind of wave, nice but packed with locals and transplants (mostly transplants dickheads). La Derecha (or The Point) is the wave that holds the biggest swells, I've seen it breaking perfectly at 20-30 feet faces. There is Ghost Town, San Juan, and other spots, all lava reefs. Bring bigger boards or buy it from Seffon, local shaper. Your everyday board may be a 7'0 in February and they'll easily break given the power that those waves hold. If it is too big, go to the east coast in the Jameos del Agua area, loads of reefs to explore. Also try El Risco and La Graciosa.

Damn straight, and that's exactly what I did in 1995 while you were still popping your zits in high school and beating off to your Slayer posters. I went there based on one photo I saw and the Surf Report, and I *****' scored. Some of the best waves in my life. Back when the locals there only surfed on Saturdays. Back when there were probably less 50 surfers in all of the islands. So yea bitch, I'm a little protective of them.

you guys obviously don't know the place nor the thickness of waves there... talking about El Quemao or La Santa or any other spot in Lanzarote is just like talking about Pipe or Sunset or any other mainstream spot in oahu. The secret is only for people who's never been there and got their asses handled to them after trying to surf only 4' Quemao or 5' La derecha. what a loser lol. I don't worry about naming spots where 95% of kooks like you would never have the guts to surf. BTW, I can pick any wave I want in any of the before named spots because I know the people, the wave, have paid my dues and have enough skills to surf it when big (from october-april). So you sucker can have any scraps and your fair share of sea urchins any time. The place can take care of itself pretty well. enough said.

Hey DeeDee, how untying your panties for a bit. I didn't jump down your throat, didn't call you names, I just recommended not spouting off break names in a public forum. If you go on a regular basis, then you'll be the one to suffer the conquences of promoting the place (if any).
