Presenting the Monster Fish, a slightly tweaked version of the tried and true standard Zippi Fish, custom shaped by Zippi for Malibu "secret spot" local GW, 55. It's 6'0, 21-3/4, 2-7/8. On Jeff Phillips suggestion, we added a triple wing for extra BITE-grrrrrrr, and we pulled in the nose 1/4 inch. It's got the patented Zippi slot bottom with RFC Zippi Lok-Box twin keels. Surfed it this morning, and it did not disappoint-especially pleased with the backside performance. Fast as hell (of course), and paddles and catches waves with ease. Thanks, Zippi!

Here's a picture of the bottom- a lot goin on. Took it out again today at Zuma. Soooooo fun. Although I have several quads and tri's, the Zippi is surprising in the way that it can square off a turn, unlike any other fish design I have tried.

Indeed- Zippi calls the new model the Missile. It's got carbon fiber parabolic rails, made with Marko EPS. Twinny, of course. He let me use a 5'9" a couple of weeks back. The board absolutely FLIES. Past two lifeguard stations after three backside turns at El Porto. WHAT? Zippi is still working out the details before he settles on the final prototype, but I will tell you, Zippi won't make something that doesn't work. If you ask nicely, he may let you try one too!

20w-50-- Zippi will be happy to lend you or anyone else a board for a couple of days (as long as you're actually interested in ordering one)- he lives and works in Redondo Beach. Google him for his phone number.

I hope I bump into Michael down at El P when it's less thumping. The missile's top speed sounds insane, I don't know if I can think that quickly...

Although I dealt with Zippi directly, I chose to buy the board through my local surfshop. You can't put a price on the joy I've experienced surfing this board--- but if you had to, it would be between $600-700, depending.
