The short board to the left is the m-80.M is for Mike and 80 is for the 80's template that Mike used for the template. After seeing all the short wider boards from different shapers I called Mike and asked him to shape me something similar but with his own input and what I got was another great board. The only thing is you have to dial in the fins since the rail line is so short.I use the fam1 future fins and it works.
I just pickedup new board from Mike this morning and I will have Oceanslide post them for me if he doesn't mind. Its like his widerboard but slightly different. It looks fuchn good!!

So it looks as though the dims on my round-tail Widerboard will be
something like 6'4" x 20 3/8" x 2 5/8ish. Exact
width/thickness will depend to some extent on the overall
volume when it's cut. 5-fin convertible setup. Cannot wait to get my paws on that
thing.
Not sure what the others that ordered at the same time
are going with, but there should be some good porn to share
when that package arrives.

I'm getting a 5'9 x 19 1/8 x 2 1/8 swallow quad widerboard (I'm probably half your weight). Mine is for mushy Trestles, so I'm pretty sure I'll never ride it as a thruster.

Is there another site with the full model lineup? The Coil site doesn't have the fish.

Nope, that site is it, but you can get more info on one-off customs and informal "models" at the Coil thread at swaylocks.com

The Coil guys tend to do everything (boards, website, sales, etc.) in-house, and they are super busy making boards at the moment, so the website progress is slow/on hold for the moment, although there is some talk about getting the springfish, M80, and maybe the "flashback" board sub-line on the site when time permits.

PS- I am not an official PR guy for Coil, but have developed a good working relationship/friendship with Mike, so I probably know a bit more about their ops than the average outsider.

oceanslide ,

do you know when the fish fry is ? that would be a good time to meet up with all the coils ?
is your widerboard coming by its self or did you get someone to order with you ?

I don't know that there are any events planned yet.
It would be cool to see a bunch of different Coil designs
in one place though. I placed an order with 3 others, all
who post on here, so there should be no shortage of porn
when that order comes in.

I believe 4-6 weeks from the order.
Mike needs to register on here to chime in on some of
the questions being asked, me thinks. No shortage of devoted
customers though, it seems.

Should be about 3 weeks out, according to MD...which would
be about 5 weeks total. Pretty good, IMO.

ah yes the widerboard. freaking amazing board. i'll have one in a couple of days and a flashback fish in a couple of weeks. i had a 3hr session a few weeks back on a 6'2 WB at the creek. the waves were head high and good so i got to get a good feel for it. the board is 2 1/4 thick which is normally anorexic for me but it gets into waves surprisingly easy and paddles well. all i can say is holy sh!t this board's got some serious twang to it. i'm not very good at reviewing boards, but bottom line the board comes out of turns with more speed than any board i've ever had. the board is just so smooth. i wish i would've had a board like this on past surf trips. there's quite a few boards in my quiver that will never see the water after that session. i'll have some boards in the classifieds soon.

highly recommend a coil
