at first you wouldn't think they'd work. they're short, fat, and ugly but at the same time purposely foiled for performance. lots of subtleties in bottoms, rails, and rocker. Very refined and mind blowing performance wise. When surfboards come from the future, they tend to look very different from the status quo.

How big are you Havoc?

Got a 5'9"x20.5"x2.5" 5-fin fcs nano on order. Going to get it hydroflexed so will see how that goes.

I'm 5'10x160'lbs of weak back foot middle aged surfing ability. If I was to order right now, it'd be 5'6/5'7x19.25x2.38 for all arounder. maybe 19.5 for more grovel. def'ly 2.5" is on the thicker end for me now but that's what I requested when I ordered during rehab. Still foiled out in the rails though. I'd go with whatever daniel rec's based on your size and ability. He told me to go 2.38 and I should've listened. Nonetheless, this thing will grovel like crazy. all your socally boys waves are now belong to me!

Stick some Twins + trailer in there. Funnest part of my Nano so far is taking 1 board and 2 fin sets to the beach, and being covered from 2'-8' (though the rocker is sketchy on big drops).

i didn't suggest that they didn't work, only that the template is ugly. i tried nkpheous's for a few minutes but didn't really get a feel for it. i took off on a closeout and then he seemed to want it back pretty quick

What are the bpttom contours by the way? The lighting in the photo show what may be a subtle double in the bottom third maybe?
I don't suppose you would care to measure where the trailing edge of the front fins are, please?
I am curious as to how this could be run as a twin plus trailer if the front fins are too far forward.
Thanks for the neat pre surf photos. I would've waxed it immediately and chucked it in the water!!!

pretty pissed,
espescially as it happened in waist to chest windswell, didn't even know i'd done it till i pulled it out of the bag for another surf today and was like WTF?

i knew how delicate pro lite glass jobs were when i ordered it but it still hurts when they go.

i'll dry it out for a week or two somewhere hot and bandage it up,should be fine(ish)

roll to single deepest between the fins balanced by a double exiting to single off the tail with a hint of double there.

holy smokes!!!

team rails and pro glass jobs will give you super hp but also stuff like that. heck pros buckle their boards all the time and get them repaired if they are a magic one. fix that puppy and get back out there! this is why everyone should have at least 2 tomos in their quivers. it sucks not being able to ride one!

that's why tomo was experimenting with those carbon/kevlar strips with super light glass jobs. strength where you need it but overall much lighter than standard glass. I'm sure it'll still work wonders when fixed.

frontside reo/snap in the pocket, nose in trough>hits sand, tail gets pushed by lip = snappola.

was the best board i've ever ridden up to that point, i did get around 100+ fun waves on it yesterday too before that happened.

Sorry to see the buckle. Flex is a big part of the equation in these boards, but the full straight outline has pretty amazing ability to absorb a hit and stay in one peice, i personally have only ever snapped 1 stringerless mph board in half.Seriously! no B/S. Also, EpoxyPro is now handling to High tech stuff with impressive strength and quality and remember - there's always Carbon Flexfoil which will make the board impressivly strong, ultralight and Flexy.

The best stringerless boards are being done by HydroFlex. check them out. Order your next TOMO and ask for it to be glassed by them. You will be glad you did!!

which is why pros like the flex of a single 4 glass job

Assuming the rocker somehow stays the same after fixing a buckle, the flex can't be the same with a big patch over the spot.

rode the mph nano as a quad today in some waist to HH semi walled beachbreak and had a blast. easy speed and I think I'm gonna like it even more as a thruster. works equally well backside and frontside. does the 1-2 paddle takeoffs that I love about this design. got one double pump bottom turn to a backside hack to the best of my kooky abilities. still working on getting my back foot back more but the board drives anywhere you stand on it. very neutral despite the template. almost wants to lift off it planes so well. I need to go a bit thinner if I'm gonna use it as an all arounder. otherwise really digging it.
