Tried to get volume from MB last night on his blog but some guy with similar name and no last initial posted some melarkey about Ward. I think MB thought it was me so I did not get my answer yet.
That board looks like a winner. Barrels and Mush? How can it go wrong. Need a new quad anyway.
-------------------- ..ready to crash and burn, I never learn.....
Was just thinking of something like this today. Kind of a mash up between my DHD Project 15 and my Lost Rock Up. The DHD has the deep concave and lower tail rocker and the Rock Up has the nice curvy outline. Love to check out a 5'9.
What's with those weird check turns he does at the top of the wave? Not sure if that's how he surfs or if the board is doing something strange. In any case, I want one.
but when you watch a vid like this, can you really say "how good that board is"? i the last one here, but I find very difficult (watching a vid like many others) to see where is the added value coming from a new board.
Quote: Not sure why, but that board is calling me, I am going to order one for sure. Still mulling around dimensions.
i just ordered one, 5'7 x 18 3/4 x 2 3/16 just couldnt help myself
Still mulling I have to get some type of epoxy, EPS Hydroflex, with bike tire pump and valve, PU Hydroflex, XTR, or what ever retodd suggests.
you should see if you can ask and get a XTR parallel flex , but get rid if the stringers and have them run 2 strips of the 3lb. blue foam instead ( like the carbolics )

+1
he's getting in so early he has to wait for the wave to ramp up. could be the board or the fact that he's maybe 50 lbs. either way, kid was killing it on that thing. smooth, no flaws, clean surfing. I want one!

i've got a board with identical outline same dims but mine maxes out at Head high. maybe it's a rocker/bottom contour thing (can't be the user ) i have wider shorter boards i'm more confortable with in HH surf with a lil push.

the more i ride mine, the more i like it... i think that vid gives a pretty good impression of how the board rides. Super fast on the front foot trim (surprised by how far forward he was surfing - might have to try that). Lean back on the tail and that round pin really bites and comes around faaaast. Enough rocket to put it in pretty much any situation but overall relatively low.
He usually catches everything early since he paddles like a madman. I think he is a "buck fifty" not 50 lbs though.
I've noticed a lot of pros have that "burst" in their paddling. It definitely gets them "in" sooner, for the most part. And....it's his home break. He's got it dialed.
