i dig how the square nose seems to allow more of a parallel outline even though the wide point is back. mellow blended concave in the nose? looks like a really good board. and awesome glass jobs got any more noserider pics? anything in sanded gloss?
glass sched?

the blunt nose does straighten the forward outline, which gives better noserides, control on the nose, more trim speed, and the hips keep it lively off the tail. You can ride one of these as narrow as 21" and it will still work really well in most anything.

spot on comment. the longer, parallel rails will generate a lot of speed.

Stunning boards, as usual! Really would be interested in trying something like this to see how it trims and noserides compared to a more traditional rounded-nose board with similar dims.

damn! looking at again thinking about trim and the green one looks like it would go so good. the black is beautiful but the green ones outline looks more balanced to me. more pulled back and the blunt nose keeps it nice and straight. YUM.

wow, thanks everyone! made an otherwise long day of work all worth it!
as with everything, there is a historical back story.. here is where the blunt nosed fixation started...
and then I made this...
I'm definitely not claiming the square nose idea, as there are loads of people out there doing it, but it is functional.
The black one is slightly wider/thicker than the green one as it is for an older guy, and the widpoint isn't as far back either since he's used to more "normal" boards. There also isn't any concave in the nose. The green one is pretty much the standard look.
There's a few of these roaming around SC at the moment, and I know at least one of the guys - the grey board's owner - is stoked to share!
Quote: I really like that. Almost seems like ou could ride them shorter with the same benefit?
I bet you could shrink them down a bit. I know guys like Zeph, Tyler, and others make some short versions of their designs.
21" wide is no problem for along board. I've got a 60s Webber pig template that is only 20" wide! Of course that same board was 3" thick almost to the rails...
I tend to pinch the rails quite a bit, but 21" is actually really good in a pig type shape.
yes, dust is the enemy of the glosser... Black is a nightmare in less than ideal situations, but in some ways, it is easier to get the scratches out since you can see everything....
of course, adult beverages afterwards come in handy too...!
Quote: you should come to 'bu or 'ofre and bring boards
love to get down there at some point, and I'll definitely bring some boards!
been riding the green one above pretty much all the time recently, and really loving it. Here's a better shot of the hips
It's really fun to fade deep, and then jam a quick turn up to trim and then perch, or cutback. They really like/allow that Nat/Tyler aggro traditional approach, and still just sit in trim all day if you want.
looks great. rob, you seem to throw an inch of two of straight into the very tail of a few of your templates ive seen lately. i noticed it here, and also on the pig for your lady. it sorta reminds me of the incut fish. any reason for this? just your style?

I think that is more because of the camera, at least on the logs. If you put a straight edge on them - and I just did to make sure - they aren't actually straight. Although, I think with the hips, and the curve they create it does look like that in pictures.
The Incut does have a little parallel in the last bit of the tail. Call it signature, but it is probably just the result of the compounding of the curves back there, and feels like it gives a little extra drive, so I leave it that way...
fck rob u da man. some seriously crisp cutlaps. how long?
i like the sharp corners. im gonna name the model for you right now; "the diving board". ok one more. " the cantilever" . ill pm you my address for the royalty cheques
