Who shapes a nice egg?
      #2271492 - 03/22/12 06:13 PM

I want to shape myself a board for when I'm feeling really lazy. I've always been a fan of Malcolm's Speed Eggs. I'd like something I can surf with a flex fin, so I can be groovy.

Maybe an outline like this, but not a hull. I'm not hip enough for a hull.

Cousin Dupree as a single fin could be fun. Birch does make nice boards.

yeah, his was a custom. looks similar to the dupree, but its a single fin and it may have a bit fuller nose. all green with yellow and black pinlines on the deck. best glass job/resin work i have seen. really wish i could put up a picture right now but the board is about 4 hours away from me.

his fishes are insane, always kick myself for not getting one

Wayne Okamoto , OAK FOILS in south bay. MASTER. can shape anything.

I loved my Dyna Glide, and had him shape me a "dyna egg"
(this one is actually for sale)
instead of convertible fins, he could easilly drop a center slot in there....

Quad eggs look fun. I've always thought of an egg having a center box. Lotsa nice looking shapes on this thread.

Quad eggs with a center box are a great and versatile setup. Unless you want to run it as a thruster, then it's a bit of a pain.

I really enjoyed having a quad egg in the quiver. Found it way more versatile than the single fin versions, but that's just me of course. I had a 5'10" that went in just about anything... in fact I sold it to a friend in the caribbean who used to only ride kinda step ups, and he hasn't ridden anything since...

not trying to sell anything, just missing this board at the moment!

if you accidentally hullify one while shaping it, let me try it; been thinking about smaller hulls lately after surfing with and watching Phil kill it on his up the block from Glide. He actually has a number of nice eggy and hully boards in the shop and has a few more due in soon.

Eggs were a big seller back then at T&C.
I made many as 5 fins with custom carbon fins.

They were 6' - 6'6" , I have made them up to 6'10" under my own label.

I had these made with T&C and they sold really well ,boards and these carbon fins.
ROOSTER that was about 6-7 years ago ,so no more.
I do only customs and what is ordered is what you see . :-)
avt_ these are softer and flex more than G-10.
G-10 enables you to make the tabs shorter for movement without loosing rigidity at the base .
