Seems like a lot of mornings I wake up with stiff/tight achilles tendons and have to slowly warm them up before I can walk with full range of motion in my calves.
It's worse after skating or walking on sand and I stretch them out, but my heel slowly contracts back towards my calf whilst I'm sleeping, so it seems like I'm losing the battle constantly.
Are there any good slow calf/tendon stretches I should do before sleeping and after exercises ?

The Graston technique would work great on that area.

Go get it done and then you will now how to do it. Then do it to yourself.

. How often do you ride your bike?
Throw away your toe cages, if you have them. Place your insteps on the pedals. Then lower your seat until your knee has a slight bend at full extension.
If you ride with no clips it's hard to remember, especially starting up at full throttle. Never place your toes on the pedals.
Never. ..

How about early mobilization/tissue stimulation/massage of those achilles tendons before you even get out of bed. It is not uncommon with age that the body needs 20-30 minutes of "warmup" time to get the juices flowing and the musculoskeletal structures loose.
