I'm trying to track down somewhere to get a set of twinzer leads foiled for a board of mine that is currently being glassed. They need to be Lokbox. They also need to be made from bamboo, as tail weight is an issue with this board (5 boxes + G10 twins).
Is Marlin Bacon still making bamboo fins? I have tried to contact him but have so far been unsuccessful.
Does anybody else do anything similar?
Alternatively, is there somewhere other than Greenlight that sells bamboo panels? I'm tempted to try foiling the fins myself, but Greenlight is sold out, and told me that they will still be sold out by the time my board is back from glassing.

Can't use GripIts with microboxes. And would like to use my own template.
The cutting board might actually not be a bad idea. Have some of you folks tried this before? Any issues as a result? Is it the exact same type of bamboo used in the fin panels?

Can also use old skate decks so you get some concave.
Tried contacting Marlin a month ago also to get some 101 twinzer fins but no dice. Call JS and ask for him. Or as stated above hit up Hoyte to get some of these:

the problem youre gonna have is fabricating the lokbox base for the fin. you cant really buy them .. (and if you can buy them, I would like to know where)
check around on swaylocks for people who have made their own bases... youre better off with a FCS or future c5 base IMO
and the bamboo cutting boards will work but I've never seen them at a 99cent store... Try a Ross or Marshalls..

FCS and futures are both no go as I need forward/back adjustment for the twinzer leads.
I plan on making a mold (or finding someone who has one) for the Lokbox base regardless as I need it for all the fins going in that board.
I do like the cutting board idea. Seems like a fairly cheap way to give it a go & see how it turns out. Thanks for the idea, everyone!

just fyi the futures c5 box offers like 1/4" fore and aft adjustment.
good luck with the base mold though, that looks like quite a process. if u could find someone with a mold setup u would be golden

You might drop a note to Michael at www.torressurf.com/
He's made me several sets of custom LokBox fins
These below are recent - balsa + bamboo stringers, epoxy w/6oz layup, and 2 layers of uni-directional 12k carbon fiber tab reinforcements. 2 fins weighed in at 5 ounces- Quote:

Emailed him. Haven't gotten a response yet, will hopefully get one soon enough.
Would much rather have someone make the bamboo fins for me as doing them myself would be quite hard without any lines to guide foiling.

Still no response from either. Is there anyone at all out there making bamboo fins for Lokbox?

Rainbow Fin Co. near Santa Cruz. Not quite 101 bamboo, but there is a little! They can do custom i believe.
