Yesterday i drove out to this place where i had seen there was a big piece of styrofoam (240x120x10cm). Strapped it to my car and went home.
today i have cut it in two and ive made my blank for the first board. It will be 6" 20" 3". Its gonna look like a boat  . My tools are now a saw and a machine with sandingpaper (what is it called?)
iLL make some pictures tomorrow.
Its so damn uneven..how do i make a hotwire? saw on utube a guy made from a carbattery charger and thin steel wire.

Try and make up some template outlines. Much easier than trying to measure out dots and then connect the dots in some nice curves. Architect have a tool that is like a flexy ruler that can help in drawing arcs. Problem it is bout three feet long only.
Also get some egg crate foam. That stuff that old people lie down on. Cut squares and glue sandpaper. Helps in not nicking the foam while sanding. Do the same thing to one of those sanding blocks by putting a thin piece of foam. About 1/4".

That actually wouldn't be a bad plan so long as he doesn't try to pawn off container boards from China as the result of his hard work.
Our friend here needs to wander over to Swaylocks, which is much more oriented to surfboard building than this forum. He also needs to know that most of those guys over there are not 16yr old kids and don't give a sht about his opinions on what is and isn't great surfing.

After all that intense labor of shaping your board, make sure it's nice and clean and ready for glassing by giving it a good rub-down with acetone.
Just kidding.
Really- don't do that! I was just joshin' ya!
Acetone will melt through EPS like Alien blood (or saliva, or whatever drips from it) melts through steel.

Watch the tom curren section in the original ...lost 5'5*19 1/4. Then make your board. "Eye ball it,no curves".

Off to make the fibreglass now. Epoxy resin was 100$ for a litre so i better not use much

It started out quite ok, but then after a while i was tired of measuring so i just started hacking away and using my intuition. My primary tools are a carpenters saw and some sandpaper.
some may say its shoddy makemanship, but ill get it some fins and finish the glassing. Then give it a surf!
