Streetcars Comfort Footwear sucks donkey...hoof
      #2292486 - 04/20/12 10:31 PM

Wellll, guess what the reply was from the VP? "Suck it..." in a word. #1, the customer service woman Angie is their very best. #2, my shoe was made in 2005 and that a life span of 7 years was a FAIR AMOUNT OF TIME NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I"VE WORN THEM. #3, once again, they refered me to the retail dealer I bought the shoe from. I'll address these responses in reverse order... I bought them 7 years ago in Corpus. Where?, I have a vague clue. 7 year life-span of a shoe no matter how little or how often the shoe is worn, is a joke. I have 2 pairs of boots that belonged to my PaPa Gus that are probably as old as I am. And then there is Liz's shoe collection...need I say more? And now to Angie and the VP Jerry Serafini. Streetcars Shoes needs to drop the joke that is refered to as "customer service". I've been in customer service in some form or fashion for over 40 years. 28 and 1/2 of those have been in the most extreme. Customer service is about serving the customer. If the customer comes to the company in good faith with a problem, the company should make every effort to SOLVE that problem. PROBLEM SOLVING should be Job #1. A $60 shoe, that was worn less than 20 times, that comes apart and is no longer wearable is a problem. Angie, Jerry Serafini are not problem solvers. They couldn't even direct me to a dealer in my area. You may ask yourself, why is this a big deal for me? It's just a shoe. Well, I work hard for a living. I don't have $60 to piss away on a pair of shoes all the time. That pair of Streetcars shoes crapped on me first at my daughter's college graduation and then at work on my first day as Department Lead. Bottom line, I gave Streetcars ample opportunity to make this good. Now, it's time to release the Kraken!

Are you sure that you weren't wearing an unapproved pair of socks?

Could have caused premature wear.

Pull flapping sole apart from midsole, clean both surfaces with thinner, score with a knife, and reglue with Barges cement. Or take it to a shoe repair place and they'll do the same thing.

I haven't bought any shoes for a while (like 15 years) but 60 bucks for shoes doesn't seem like much.

Yah, tried both already. ShoeGoo, Gorilla glue, then to the shop repair. I didn't even get to the counter and they said 'no can do'. And this is a renowned place that works on a staggering amount of boots.
I'm not done with them OR Streetcars mgt.
As last resort, I'll deploy the 12ga. to the miserable zapato and YouTube it flying across the pasture.
WEEEEEEEEEE!

Go buy new shoes. Spend mo money.

I've made and worked on a few pairs of shoes. The smell of leather, dye, waxed thead and Barges on a cool morning is a thing of beauty. Especially the Barges.
