So, first off, tell us what happened to Sacred Craft ®*, why did you change the name to THE BOARDROOM?
Well. Frankly I can’t talk too much about Sacred Craft ® because it is not my property. I do not own it. It is not really my place to discuss it. The Nielsen Corporation, the company that produced the ASR shows in San Diego, owns Sacred Craft ®. But, understanding that you and everybody in the industry looks to me for the answer to that question, I can tell you that I was told by the Nielsen Corporation that Sacred Craft ® won’t happen in 2012. Let me be clear that I did not change the name. I can’t change the name of something I do not own. The Boardroom International Surfboard Show is in fact an entirely new surfboard show and is in no way affiliated with Sacred Craft ®.
* Sacred Craft® is registered trademark, owned by Nielsen Business Media, Inc. Furthermore, Scott Bass, Scott Bass, Inc. and The Boardroom are not endorsed, sponsored, or affiliated with Sacred Craft® or Nielsen Business Media.

We are living in an era of rapid evoloution in board design. Its gona be sick to see the industry's current innovations and looking forward to who brings the heat for the Best of Show.

will someone please explain how Meyerhoffer even deserves to be mentioned in the same breathe (sic) as some of the others? the narrow-waisted boards he designed GSI couldn't even give away and they were hardly innovative as Morey had produced that design years ago.
BTW Scott, at the mention of a "longboard zone" I had visions of a roped off area with guys and gals pushing mongo and practicing their soul-arches and hand-jive while jousting with the kahuna stick pushers.

Have a child-free pass Sat, so Sat. it is. I thought the demo day was Sat anyway? Really don't care about that too much...just want to surf and gorge. On everything.

It seems to me that the Nielsen Corporation, the company that produced the ASR should come to you offering $ for you to continue to use the Sacred Craft <insert r circle regitered trademark symbol here> name.
Having visited 4-5 ASR trade shows and former Sacred Craft consumer gatherings suggest to me the absolute popularity of your gatherings put shame on the ASR and their urban, hipster, unrelated to surf culture, retail conventions. If they were more innovative, collaborative efforts and genuine financial support of your gatherings would seem to be the one business strategy that would get ASR back into mainstream merchandising. Maybe we (surfing community) don't really want the selling of the 'culture' to grow any more (thank you SUPs).
In any event, those of you surfers, core, recreational, parents of kids getting into the sport... this is a once a year opportunity to really see what the life is all about. The entertainment value, history, present and future of surfing can be had for the price of parking and admission!

Mark price?? Will he be talking about his plan to f up the surfboard industry?

Great show, IMO. Parking situation sucked since the Mud Run was going on today too, meaning paying $9 to park in the dirt as far away from the show as possible. Other than that, loved it! Good seeing some good peeps with booths there too. Nice work Bassy!

Demo was fun although I HATE surfing Del Mar. I finally upped the arms race and when I grabbed the 9-0 Hansen Superlite I started to have A LOT of fun. Ten toes over the nose on my 2nd wave on it. I kinda want to start longboarding again.
I saw a bunch of erBBers, but I ducked out and went home after the demo because I decided I don't need to want even MORE boards than I do now

didnt go, realized i couldnt justify a 200 mile round trip with gas at 4.75... especially cuz im already ordering another board soon anyway
but i just watched mark richards' interview on the webcast which was pretty cool. he shared some cool stories and seems like a great guy.
i wonder what he would say if someone wanted to order a twinzer from him? i wonder how much experimentation he has done with them. i would like to see an MR twinzer... theres gotta be one out there somewhere
