My new Mush Potato step up. 5'6" x 21.5 x 2.4 quad or 5 fin for me , but tri as well. Giving a new fin system a try. Less volume in the rail, narrower nose, narower and longer than my 5'2" Potato Peeler. [img]http://forum.surfermag.com/ph

Board looks like a poo load of fun Brian!!
Are those surfinz boxes and fins?
How was the fitment of those? I was considering getting them here in one of my next board and I am curious as to how they come up...
5'6"? What sort of nose and tail lift are we looking at for that?
Would it be safe to assume you used the same numbers or do you continue the curve from a shorter board (for example, your peeler) just to accomodate the little extra length?
I was lso curious about how the bulky rails felt on the peeler? Some of those waves you were on were certainly not 'grovelling' waves but by the looks of things, the rails didn't seem to hold you back!!!
Nice turns by the way!
Cheers

Hey Jam man, just checking the Surfinz out. Not sure yet. But for the people who like fcs , a good thing the fcs fit in them and are adjustable front to back. So lots of fins to choose from. I've been a big fan of Lokbox and this is hard, but there are many customers who like their fcs fins and I like adjustment. See how it works out. The metal to metal fin screw of Lokbox is great for strenght. Miss that.

This new board, Mush Potato, is the same bottom contour with less rail volume as it is a bit longer and wanted it to handle a bit more surf. The Peeler works great and for the little stuff, and fat rails were necessary. But when surfing more aggressivly, I could keep the rails in the water on bigger waves. Really think I could have riddin much larger surf with it, but missed a couple nice sets that day, caught inside. Bad luck. Wanted to get the thing on some larger photos. Really had fun on it. This one is a bit more foiled and the next Hot Potato will be even a bit more foiled . Be a Potato quiver.
One concern is tail rocker. Was't ready to change that, but may on the next one. Worked so well that flat , so why change it. It was a graduation with the length . Then adding rocker makes it another model and thats fine. So fast, as long as it turns well I'm keeping it that way. Quad or 5 fin is just making surfing fun in crap waves. The Hipster is a good performance board stepup from these.
