The board is a 6'0 x 21.25 x 2.75 lost "mutant" but the shape seems very simaler to the motivator.
it is eps/epoxy very light for such a foamy board
I am an intermediate surfer who is getting back in the water after an injury, I haven't surfed in 8 months and weigh 200 lbs now at 5'10
help, please? I have no clue what fins I need, except I want to use the five boxes as a quad because my last two boards were cole quads. problem is I weighed 180 then so I need more bigger fins

I don't know Future fins that much but with that placement I would go for nearly equal sized front and rear fins.
Also, don't be afraid to try Vector foils in the rear boxes...

As a set I liked Simons larger template. Never tried an EA set though. This link is old but lots of guys swore by a mixed futures combo mentioned in it Link>futures quads

Agreed. I use them on a board with similar fin placement.

I've tried the sa4 twice and just don't like them.
here's what I would do. Spend some time on the futures web site. figure out what you think you want and GO TRY THEM!!
You can demo all futures fins. Then see what you like.
Hell, I've demo'd three set and mixed and matched. it's so much cheaper than buying.
There is a new AM 5 fins set that looks promising, give it a go.
it's more better that way.

The future Stretch quad are my favorite quad set. They worked great on a board with similar fin placement.

Killer board...saw that on C-list and think someone here posted it? The SA or EA recs seem good. I'd personally try to hunt down a set of Scarfini FX-3 quads. Twin+trailer setup would also probably be fun in that board.

Simon Anderson Quads go great for me. The EA's are good also, but seem too stiff sometimes. However, that could be the indian not the arrow.

Yeah someone on here tipped me off and I got it off CL.
I like that idea of demoing fins I may look into doing that in huntington
I am gonna stick with the straight quad setup for now since that is what I had gotten used to but the possibilities to experiment are pretty sweet

May I chime in here if I may?
A man of your size is going to need drive. And a base that's going to keep your speed. But you may also want minimal surface area for jiggyness. Which would call for a smaller fin tip..
All these suggestions may work well for you but unfortunately your going to have to do some trial and error here my brother. In assuming that your rear boxes are only 1/2". Which severely limits your fin combinations with a futures rear. As suggested already mix and matching is the best combination. Almost every quad package futures offers is either a 375 or 400 rear template. They are also symmetrical foiled rears.
Grab some fg or honeycomb large fronts and just use composite rears until you find out what you like. Don't even mess with thruster set ups for the time being. Am2, roberts, hs1, or tp1 fronts . All have drivey bases for big guy dims but can still be loose. 400 composite rears.
Good luck chap!

thanks for the info... i may have to take advantage of that demo option for some experimentation.
gonna have to head down to huntington tomorrow and begin the search

Sweet board, that thing looks super fun. From the photo, the rear quad fin placement looks like they are pretty close to the rail. Wouldn't that favor 80/20 or flat-sided foiled fins??? I'm just curious, maybe some fin guys will chime in.

Do they make the Roberts in a quad set up? Not seeing them on website.

I got your pm bro but your inbox is full so I couldn't respond, thanks for the offer I will definitely let you know if I need it
yeah the board is from CL, it went to a friend of the shaper I guess and then to his friend so i guess it isn' an official model. I have a feeling it is some kind of experiment maybe something similar to the motivator and uber plank but with a bat tail

I wish.
but fyi, Robert showed his personal RBBT as a quad some time ago. He favors Mckee placement on his designs and he told me to use the 375 composite rears with his fronts.
I didnt mesh with that set-up however, where as others may like it. Id go bigger with the 400's if using 1/2" boxes however.
