Hi guys, so I was thinking since I can't surf for another month or two due to a broken jaw, I might want to get a prone paddle board to keep in good paddling shape to paddle around the marina or maybe out into open water later on. Does anyone have any good recommendations on boards? I don't know anything about prone paddle boards except they seem a lot more streamlined and longer than surfboards.
I'm 5'8 145, pretty good paddler and swimmer although I've definitely atrophied a little bit in the past two to three weeks i've been injured. thanks for any advice or recommendations!

a 10'6" aussie surf club style board is a good all rounder for paddling and catching some waves on. you'd be looking at around $1200 for a good one or cheaper for a popout from china. If you want to paddle longer distances, it might be worth looking for a longer 12 or 14 ft, I know surftech make a tufflite version of a 14 footer for $1600, not a bad deal.

it will be cheaper for you to buy some resistance bands and work out the muscles that way while you are not surfing.
if you are interested in making an investment for the long haul, then check out the eaton site for used paddleboards.
google: eaton used paddleboards
a second hand board will save you some money, retain pretty good resale value and let you try boards out to see if it is something you want to stick with.

something in this style is what i was referring to above as the aussie style clubby board. very versatile in that they paddle fast and are fun to catch waves on. The definately wont glide as well as a 14 or 18 footer though.
