surf related assaults in Tofino have risen from zero incidents to one
Yes you read that correct. Localism is out of control as – stay away from BC the locals are crazier than the Wolf Pak…they beat up female surfers.

just trying to figure it out

and my tits are way to fine to share with all you idiots

TOFINO - Police are recommending assault charges to Crown Counsel following an argument between two surfers last week at Cox Bay. Tofino RCMP say the disagreement started when a female surfer cut a male surfer off during a surf session. The fight continued onto the beach and that's when police say the assault happened.
Staff at local surf shop Long Beach Surf Shop said incidents like this are very rare in the small resort community. Tofino is widely regarded as a great destination for beginner surfers because the waves are relatively easy to catch, and the people are friendly.

Tofino RCMP Constable Jordan MacKellar says the man has been released and the police investigation continues.

I live in PR., and if a guy ever puts a hand on a female, drop in or "local", doesn't matter, he is going to have big problems.
Last season an american female surfer paddled for the same waist high wave as this other guy, and started yelling at her to get off, then put his hand on her and gave her a push. the guy was chased out of the water, scooped up his girlfriend and left.
Don't really care what happened, the guy needs to be taught some manners.

Those who enforce localism or will not share should not be allowed out of their local spot. I've seen the type who shows up in waves other than their local spot acting as if they own them.

Really, go home, kook!

Bad vibes destroy the surf experience for everyone, including themselves. Blah blah on how crowded it is blah blah--if it's crowded, go out and explore the big, wonderful world for waves, and meanwhile, share--because soon you'll be surfing in someone else's spot too, and a shared experience is what humanity is all about.

My last trip to Taiwan--this is a place where localism is simply nil. Everybody shares, laughs, and looks out for each other. Guy paddles over to me and tells me I looked nervous--I wasn't really but I haven't surfed for nearly a year and was a pretty much a noob--he says relax, everyone's here to have fun so don't be nervous. Then when everyone went in for a quick lunch and the lineup almost was empty, the rest of us went in. It just was not fun surfing alone. Plenty of waves for everyone. Fighting and jostling for waves with that aggro attitude isn't gonna make more waves come this way. And Taiwan does get good--very good, when a typhoon swell heads that way.

I think that anyone who hasn't done so might find interesting both the news accounts and some of the posted responses to the news account. Here's the online article at Stab:

Stab Article

There seem to be two perspectives on this story, as well as some question as to whether the exchange actually included what most people would consider an assault.

erroneously hassle some guy who finally stood up to her idiocy...

Been posted before but must do so again Sorry

Seriously though IMO, chicks and groms are off limits.

I've been annoyed to all hell by females in the lineup many many maaaaaaany times. Especially when they're annoying+fugly (hot ones get a pass, that is life). And worst are the ones that have boyfriends/husbands that are in so it's somehow a f*cking shoulderhop pass

But chicks and groms, you just let it go and take your anger out on the next male crutchtard that drops in on you

no.

I had that old haggish hat and glove wearing super-shnoz
that surfs (if you can call it that) the park cut me off
MULTIPLE times after I had repeatedly called her off the
wave....MULTIPLE times she kicked her fkn funboard out like
a kook and dinged a near-new board I was riding.

I grabbed it and asked her to apologize for her egregious
offense against our fine sport and she acted like her poop
didn't stink...so I paddled behind her and heckled her for
the rest of the session.

now she sees me and paddles FAR AWAY.

if I've seen you out and KNOW that you know better, I don't
care if you've got tits or a big fkn husband, you're a kook
and you get called on it.

I felt bad for about 10 seconds until another surfer started
clapping.

oh, and japs...always lynch japs.

Pussy.

Everybody needs some kind of regulation, or else lineups continue to devolve into anarchy. If Ocean Maid burned everybody and mouthed off, then she deserved a taste of her own medicine. From the sounds of things, that’s all she got in return.

If you give “chicks and groms” a constant pass then they get it in their heads that their behavior is perfectly acceptable; and people like you help perpetuate the problem.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating violence; chicks and groms and kook beginners get a pass in that department. Sometimes though, people need to be put in their place.

If you have ever lost a board into a pier because of a female dropping in, you would feel different.

If you have ever had a leash wrapped around your neck in the middle of an overhead set because of a female dropping in, you would feel different.

And the fact of the matter is, a push is a push, not a punch. I think most of the girls in the water who practice etiquette would agree with me. That is, if I'm visualizing the situation correctly.

Seriously though IMO, chicks and groms are off limits

+1

Everyone has seen guys look the other way at misbehavior by (some) females, particularly some of the cute ones. In some cases (not all) what ends up happening is they start taking it for granted and start feeling all empowered. Now I'm all for equal treatment, but equal treatment means equal responsibilities, too.

I'm guessing that whomever the female was (Oceanmaid or not) the people around her probably contributed to the problem by allowing her to get in the habit of acting like her first name is Kala. Otherwise, why would any experienced surfer think it okay to get all aggro at a spot like that?

Respect isn't given, it's exchanged.

How is this news worthy?
domestic violence is much more common, more of an issue and yet rarely covered in the news as individual instances.
give the guy a spanking in court as with any assault case.

chill and onto the next huge topic:

the case of the stolen wax comb!
