i know at least 5 people who rode a motorboat and loved it. never heard a bad review. designed by good surfers.....

I had one (PU/recycled blank) and loved it till a few months in I decided to scrape my wax. I threw it in the sun for a few minutes and I started to hear this hissing sound coming from underneath the wax. So I started to scrape it and water started shooting from the board. Cleaned off all the wax and there was a hole in the glass the size of a pin hole and absolutely no damage in the area. The water from the hole create a soft spot about the size of a baseball. Not only was there this mysterious hole with a nice soft spot around it but a few inches up there was a buckle.
Took it into Surfride and they were not surprised to see it. I guess it was the third one they had seen with the same issue. They had the rep look at it and they issued me a store credit for the full amount.
Surfride recommended i get something different which turns out i had no choice since they no longer had the motorboat in my size. I would definitely get another one, but i would probably go custom with a normal blank and avoid the recycled stuff until they work out the kinks.

Damn. Obviously he can surf anything well, but some of
those flat/dead sections he was connecting through on that
board were rediculous! Looks fun...would love to try one.

Yep... how he makes that board work is how it would work for us... Puhleeeze please poor the kool aid out of your mugs, slap yourself to wake up then re watch. Ive surfed with Timmy a few times, not friends with him or nothing but have surfed at a couple events and freesurfed next to him and if any of you guys think we are anything close to this guy your out to lunch. We swapped boards where he tried a carbon board I was on and turned around and bucked a 2 foot air on it first wave while I sat on a home made fish he made feeling sub human and like I never surfed ever. This guy is like Machado in dexterity and also genetically spot on weight wise to be a world class surfer. I have seen him go to town on shvt waves in south ventura county that other normally good stand out surfers were getting none on, me included.
Not trying to be no debbie downer but dood surfs like an alien, and if you think that board will do that for your surfing, I have a yoga dvd that will make you surf like T Knox

So youre saying you would be able to surf just like Tim Curran if you had a Moatboat, arent you?!?!
Kidding. I know youre not saying that. 
I have heard a 220 lb shop guy here in Texas (who surfs all the time and is pretty good from pics I've seen) say that (6' x 'big guy' OTR dims) board is his favorite and a super-user-friendly performance wavecatcher in TINY, slopey 6 sec windswell, so...
there's that.

the motorboat is on one end of the thruster spectrum, white dove on the other.
if i could only have one board for life, i'd choose the FIVE, which is what the white dove is based on.
isn't the motorboat made of all crappy recycled materials?
