Really? I mean....Really? For a guy that can actually surf and is a pro? It was a good ride? And he was on the foam ball? Like when he was moving too slow, his stink bug forcing him to awkwardly climb up the wave face then slip down and just make it over the foam ball before getting ultimately pummeled at the end? ...Really?
That said, I will never in my life surf anything like that. But still...Really?

The way I look at it is
A. That was a huge wave, on a scale I've never come close to and he got it done. B. Everyone seems to agree that the board design sucks and he potentially lost the jet mid ride which further botched how the thing performed...and he pulled it off. Sort of like if he was on one of Roy's boards, kudos to him for having the skill to make the wave.

Yeah, really. he rode 2nd reef pipe and pulled through a house sized foamball into the critical section of the wave on the inside, on a disabled board. the pummeling at the end, judging by the first two guys, was standard that day.
And no, you never will in your life surf anything like 2nd reef pipe. Really.
