2 weeks off in January, where to go?
      #2262632 - 03/09/12 07:39 PM

It'd be my first "real" surf trip. Want somewhere fun and not too crowded. Had a buddy go to Peru and ended up surfing w/ 100 of his closest south american and brazzo friends every day. He was so bummed, dude left days ahead of schedule to score better waves locally. Want to try to avoid that as much as possible. Looking for fun rippable clean waves w/ mellow crowd. May also be traveling solo, lemme know what u guys think?

In Senegal you will sure find what you are looking for. Mellow crowds, happy when there are other people at the spots and super friendly locals.
Here is some videos to check out
Videos from Senegal
You can also find more info on the rest of the site. Only problem(good thing) is that tickets are so expensive, that most surfers choose Maroc.

Couldn't tell you from experience, but if I were to take a trip in January I'd do Taiwan. Looks amazing, empty, NPAC cranking out swell...

big gamble since depends on typhoons and if there is one, beaches get closed.
heard it goes weeks on end with flatness like the east coast.

want a good consistent fun rippable place w/ good consistency. el salvador? isn't there a resort w/ private pointbreak down in el salvi? not la libertad or sunzal or loco rock or whatever.

really need to go somewhere and recharge away from the crowds...
