Formula Energy in the US?
      #2318731 - 05/31/12 08:23 AM

Wondering if anyone knows if there’s a Formula Energy distributor in the states? Love a few of the shapes and interested in the tech as well...just wondering if anyone had any helpful information as to where I can look/get one. I know someone was selling two last year on the east coast, but can’t be sure...I appreciate the help!

Buy a Coil (aren't they only $650) or a Proctor.
Similar tech but without the Australian price tag of $1000 plus.
Still keen on one?

Exactly what fin placements are you talking about?

Also his fins look closer to the rail than a McKee set-up, but a bit farther than a rail placement. His carbon placement is unique as well...really would like to see one up close to feel the difference from my Hayden.

Proctors are $1000+ and are domestic

The Bollywood board and his twins are boards I have wanted to try for awhile. Would also be interested to hear if there is U.S distribution.

I just left a voicemail asking Gary if he has any US distribution and I'll let you know what he says when he calls back.
I'll also let him know about this thread in case he would like to log in and answer questions.
Here's his contact details...
http://formulaenergy.com.au/contact/
I'm going to have a look at them in person tomorrow since I've discovered there's a shop on the Sunshine coast stocking them.

I've had a few of Gary's boards - aliens are super fast! Go with the flower of life art decks. The hemp decks felt a little heavy to me and didn't have the same flex pattern.

Hey Sean,
What dims are you riding the Alien at?
I'm looking forward to feeling these boards up.
Seems like Gary has given the site an overhaul and there's more videos up as well as used boards.
Even have a used one from Rasta's quiver for those who really want to find out if it's the Indian or the arrow.
Luckily I outweigh Rasta by 20 plus kgs so I'm not tempted to go down that path.

Hey Pete,

I was riding a 5'10, 19 3/4, 2 7/16 - the flower deck i had was amazing. I've ridden a 5'6 nemo twin and that was also hectic. I've also ridden a 6'2 alienator in biggish surf, but found it too big for my needs. Super light boards and very responsive. Not cheap though

The freight cost will stop most in their tracks.
However here's another case of an Aussie made surfboard being quoted cheaper to a US customer than being retailed here.
The USC hemp deck is priced at $995 (on special) at the shop that stocks them.
