My understanding is that the pill boards are much more performance oriented than a mini-Simmons. That's why I got a FW sweet potato. Having said that, I happen to get it super super cheap so I couldn't pass it up. I do have a GH quad fish and I absolutely love that board and enjoyed the process of working with Gary, so if I were doing it all over without my deal, would get the GH over the FW.

Have ridden both a 5'4" x 20 1/4" x 2 1/2 Slingerland Spacebar and a 5'5 x 21" x 2 3/8" GH Pill. Both are on the higher end performance wise when it comes to this style of board with the GH Pill performing better in the smaller stuff because it had more volume and planing area. I believe if you were to compare two similar sized Spacebar and Pill surfboards the Pill will have more volume because of the design intent of the board. At least when I have done the comparisons it always worked out that way. Another thing I think is the Pill is very similar to a Sweet Potato but performs way better. Demoed a Sweet Potato and after riding both boards on the same day the Pill was much better for me.
Both boards are excellent at making small days fun so it will just depend on what you think will work better for you.

Thank you Dudebro for the great input. That's pretty cool that you got to try all those boards in the same day.... Definitely leaning towards the gh pill, because gh is so easy to work with.
By any chance you've ridden a lost bottom feeder?
