Picked this one up second hand but only ridden one time by OG owner
Dims : 5'6 x 20.75 x 2.6 32.3 L futures quads controllers My dims 5'11.5 x around 177-180 generally If I rode a regular non stub shortboard in good waves with some push it would be 6'3 x 19.5 x 2 5/8 Overall when up and riding the board performs as expected of this platform of boards fast on the flats and loose off the top and bottom .hqve only ride it 3 x this far and it's been in waist to chest shortish period windswell with clean conditions . Personally even though 32.3 l floats me it is a little on the low end . I think this board is def rhe most high performance version of the wide tailed flat rockered hybrid boards . I think It will excel in waves with some push and a real good defined peak at the lower end volume . If you looking for this to be a real groveller in waves that are slopey or come in flat I'd recommend erring on the higher end of the volume scale for the average Joe competent surfer . Overall I look forward to riding it in some small waves with some good shape and power and modest period to really see how she goes . Look forward to hearing some other reviews as I'm still scratching the surface on this one and hav yet to get her in th kind o surf I want ( waist to head high medium to long period and clean ) I am on the fence on the volume as i would like this one 2"'longer and .25-.50 wider to work better on the East coast and waves that come in flatter and softer .
Yes flatter rocker .I'm puzzled as my reg shortboard is in the 28-29 l range and this is 32 . I was just sick for two weeks so maybe it's paddling is due to a slight loss of fitness but in this type of small shaker wide board I think I'm used to around 36l volume whij really rolls in but doesn't go on rail as well . It's a def trade off.
Quote: mmm ive noticed when i go on such shorter boards, even though they might be more buoyant, they take a lil longer to get going on a wave
Planing area. One thing I've found on slopey, small, slow stuff, is if you take off at an angle, there's more planing with less water pushing -- you get an effectively reduced rocker due to the diagonal waterline, and it seems like you get the rocker in front of you out of the water. I dunno - maybe someone else will chime in similarly. It works for me.
EDIT: Sorry - not that the waterline itself is the thing - the waterflow under it is the thing, but it's similarly diagonal. That is all.
Postscript: Also, youre getting lift ("drive") from the wings, er, fins, especially teh wave side rail fin(s) so you're going to get some acceleration off them, too. If you have toed in rail fins, and youre taking off straight, theyre both (all) at a negative angle for lift, just dragging.

Anybody seen this vid yet? Really curious to hear some ride reports on this...especially since Stretch says that 8'0 of Nathan's lasted all winter at Pipe, heavy. The tech looks sick.

Got to see those (cork top/bamboo bottom) in person over at Stretch and they look beautiful. Haven't rode one but feels super high quality and SOLID construction!

I haven't ridden a Super Buzz yet. But I've been fully stoked on my Mr.Buzz! Just waiting for my broken foot to heal up, and for some decent waves. This summer has been sorta craptacular.

Quote: Any more ride reports on these? Really wanna order one of these but I've heard mixed reports about it working as a groveller
I hope this helps, I've only ridden this board twice. It's a 5'8 22.25 2.75 super buzz with a volume of 36 L. Rode it from waist to shoulder mushy at times but overall and weak. So far I love it, it paddles really well but turns so good. It went pretty well with controller fins but switched them today with Roberts front and stretch new template rears and I think it's money. The smallestnive had it in so far is weak waist high high tide and it went pretty good. As long as there some kind of push it should be ok. Be careful to take in consideration where your surfing when ordering this board. Stretch recommends it real small but if your on the east coast go bigger. So far so good just need some more sessions, which isn't to easy in jersey in the summer.

Sweet thanks nj. That's similar dims to what I'm thinking of ordering, for mushy beach break. What's your height/weight? I'm 6'2 190 and I was thinking 5'8 21.75 2.6.
Back to the subject I am thinking about placing a order soon and was thinking about going 5'2" ( I am 5'8" 165#) and let stretch take care of the rest of the dims. I want my SB to be a groveler and a good small wave board so is on the small size best for the sb? Also I was wondering about fins and what you running. I am thinking about getting the fu stretch controller set w/ my order.

Quick n dirty formula for what size Buzz will work for you. Subtract 15% of the length from your HPSB that you're currently riding, and there ya go. Riding a 6' HPSB? A 5'2"+/- Buzz is your ride.

for this type of boards, it seems it IS important to shorten the lenght, and then adjust widht/thicknes to whatever volume you want; is that how it is? for example they adviced me, and I am considering a 5'8x19x2.32, or a 5'6x20x2.4. Me being 5'9, 165 pounds. And i guess i'd like around 30 lts of volume maybe?

I am a inch shorter same weight and only contacted strech for a quote but I was thinking 5'2" for my sb and let stretch come up w/ other dims. What size do you ride for hpsb or dd? My hpsb is 5'11" 18-3/4" 2-3/8" and dd's 5'9" 19" 2-1/4" and 5'6" 20"2-3/4". I am looking for my sb to be a good small wave board knee high to hh beach break.

Well i also have a 511x 18 3/4x2 3/8s but is a subdriver so it has like a fuller outline i guess. My board for bogger waves is 61x18 5/8x2 3/8s. So i guess yOu use smaller boards than me.

Not really because 5'6" still trips me out how small it is since I learned how to surf in the 80's Just trying to get a feel for how small to go and feel 5"2" is my limit and don't want to end up w/ some thing I don't like or can't use Please add feedback/input to those who ride superbuzz
