July 6 – 22 surfed on Kauai, got to surf every side of the island while visiting. Had a lot of fun days but no big swell. Didn’t bring any boards but some friends hooked me up with good boards. I rode a 6’4 Maurice Cole thruster most of the time, the board was originally shaped for Bethany Hamilton so my thoughts were on Tigers during a few sessions. On some small days I had some fun longboarding sessions on a 9’ 6 Dick Brewer and a 9’0 Hamilton and I got to ride an 8’ ft Papa Sau mini tanker, and a 6’8 Tokoro thruster. I was ready for a big swell but it never happened so after a surf each day I mainly hung out with family and friends and enjoyed the good life.
