well i obviously knew not to go to lunada bay, weve all heard the stories of that place. Forget it
But i went down to Royal Palms yesterday and the parking lot was closed so i parked and checked it from the top. Some fun waves rolling off the breakwall and small rights off the point there. A few guys were out and looked like they were enjoying themselves so i figured i'd paddle out.
I suited up in the parking lot at the top and walked down. As soon as i got down there i saw what you guys were talking about, lots of gangmember types hanging around and drinking "forties". I didnt look at anyone and just paddled out. Instantly, the guys in the water started asking me where i was from and i told them i just moved to San Pedro and i'm just looking to get some waves. They told me i should go surf around the corner and that i wasnt welcome there. The thing about it was that the guy could barely surf himself. Some darker guy on a blue board. I heard his friends call him Pete. The guy was a total asshole. I asked them why i couldnt surf here when i lived right down the street and that i would call the police. As soon as i said that some vato looking surfer paddled over and started splashing me and yelling threats at me. They even treatended to burn my house down!
I paddled in and some of the guys that were hanging out started telling me to go home too. I ended up cutting my feet on all kinds of broken glass when i tried to get outta there in a hurry.
I ended up going home and calling the police to report the incident which didnt exactly do much good.
What is with these people and there stupid local antics? Were all surfers just tryin to get some good waves. What a joke? Has this happened to anybody else, pretty extreme
