Stubster, Love the Pickleman, your DG actual thickness is 3.35”. One of the reasons why most all Dyna-Glydes are made with EPS/Epoxy is the freedom in design I can achieve with using a solid piece of EPS foam. I have been working with Daron Story from White Hot Foam who has been hot wiring custom top and bottom rockers to custom specs for me. At this time the Dyna-Glyde proportions are extremely unique ie, there are no poly blanks available short of using longboard blanks and dealing with enormous waste. One of the problems I am having are that designs are changing and evolving at a rapid rate for me at this time most poly blank pugs are becoming obsolete.
The impetus behind the Dyna-Glyde has been about maximum lift and buoyancy with out loosing performance in all around general everyday surf we have in most areas. This allows the rider to utilize much fuller contours with out adding weight. In essence the board rides much smaller than the dimensions suggest. With the unique bottom contours combined with the marriage if a progressive bottom rocker along with a completely opposing type of deck rocker makes the Dyna-Glyde a completely different shape in terms of genre. Along with the convertible 5-fin set up allows one to an added dimensional quality for differing conditions.
At the moment I am now working on a new series of Bryd-Fishes utilizing the Dyna-Glyde rockers and volume formulas.
I also have in the works some new Longboards that will be unique in genre, (not trad or modern.)
Keep an eye out
