When I lived in San Juan there were 3 homeless people that hung out on my block and all have daily routines. Most of them are very methodical. One of them would relieve himself every morning on the side of the road before the busy pedestirians started their transits to work. My roomate used to be an EMT.
One day walking by the pile of poo, he explained to me that the guy was bleeding internally (due to the black discoloration) and would die soon if he didn't get medical attention. Funny, but I can't remember seeing him on a regular basis much long afterward.
