you can really appreciate how the canard captures water that would otherwise escape off the rail, redirects right over the main fin foil.
seeing that effect with just the hose, its really easy to visualize the effect in a continuous medium, imagine the amount of influence it has over the flow of the water captured by the main fin's leading edge.
