The Anything Lam. Not sure if it applies to just what Robert originally cooked up with the Diamond Fish nose and the Modern 80's hipped tail but I do know you can ask for as few or as many fins as you want 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ...? When I learn more I'll let ya'll know.
I get the blame for the name. We were discussing what to call it and it was going like this:
‘We can call it the XYZ!’
‘Stretch already has an XYZ model.’
‘We can call it the ABC!’
‘Doc already has an ABC model.’
Went on for ten minutes that way. Every name anyone brought up, someone else already had the model name. Finally, in frustration I said something like, “You know what, the heck with it, call it anything, I don’t care… wait… THAT’S IT! The Anything. That’s what I’m calling the design file. You can call it whatever you want on your end, over here it is now The Anything.
Then people started riding the board and it was being ridden as a twin, a quad a thruster, you can ride the Anything as anything. The name stuck. For better or worse.
Sizing… I kind of hate the sizing thing a bit. It’s going to vary from surfer to surfer and depend upon what you want to use the board for. WD sizing is six inches shorter and one inch wider and same thickness as you HPSB. That will work fine, but I think this board could be sized down from there another inch (or even a couple of inches) and plus another ¼” or so of width if you wanted to use it as a full on micro board grovel machine. If you don’t have something in the WD range maybe stick with those WD numbers, if you do have a board in the WD size range, you could take this one down even smaller if you wanted. You have to ask yourself what is the niche you are looking to fill with this board? And then act accordingly.
My advice is call Robert!! 805-658-6855
I am but a lowly dust monkey and I hate phones. Robert is still accessible and he loves to talk to surfers.
And remember, Anything is possible.
