Oh yeah. I never would agree that homo sapiens are significant. Or that the Judeo-CHristian-monotheistic beliefs are anything other than ancient dusty superstition. We homo sapiens as existing things are little parasitic bacteria living on the flea that survives off the mouse that lives in a hole in this giant old universe. We mean nothing. Absolutely. But insofar as we can ponder and partake in this glorious existence, we are everything. And in this world of strife and trouble and struggle for survival, I think it is precisely this ability to realize this and be aware of it and then do the opposite, to practice grace and kindness and love- that is also what makes us significant, if only to ourselves.
