awesome work another question: when you are fairing the edges of cured cloth repair into the rest of the pre existing glass, do you need to get the edge/transition to completely disappear, or just minimize it? in other words, how much edge/transition will disappear with the hotcoat, if any? ive never had a problem seeing/feeling the edge but thats because i feel like i spend too much time fairing, which can lead to a little dip even after hotcoat, that is sorta noticeable in the right light or to the touch...
Depends on the type of repair for me. If I'm trying to squeek-by and not do a clean-up coat or gloss coat, I'll feather the edges of the laminated glass until you cant feel the transition from the glass through the new laminated weave. Then I'll hoat coat it. If I'm working on a board that's going to get a gloss coat I won't even clean up the edges cause they'll get "burned" and smoothed out out anyways when sanding the hotcoat. Once I apply the gloss coat the burn get filled in with resin and disappears. If you've got a dip then you may have simply sanded the filler or section down just to far. Does that answer your question or did I miss what you meant?
