Oahu in the height of contest season

A friend of mine's getting married on Oahu, so I'm stoked that I can get a quick surf trip in while I'm at it. The only problem: the wedding's on November 10th, the Haleiwa comp starts on the 14th, so I'm going to be there right when every pro descends on the island. Am I screwed, or will I be able to find waves if I look for surf away from the A-list spots?
